Brantford Collegiate Institute is proud to congratulate Silas Chinsen in winning first prize ($12 000) in the concours immersion clip 2013 organized by the University of Ottawa and the Canadian Association of French Immersion Teachers (ACPI).

The purpose of the competition is to:
  • Enhance the learning of the French language in the context of immersion;
  • Encourage oral production of learners in immersion;
  • Make known and promote a positive vision of French immersion in Canada;
  • Encourage students' creativity through the use of information technology and communication (ICT).
The competition saw entries from students from everywhere in Canada. Silas composed original music to sing why French music inspires him in learning French. The jury selected his work as being the best and he won the top prize. Silas’ video can be seen HERE This is the fourth year that a BCI student has won top prize at this competition.
